The story surrounding the sale of a former farmland site in the Town of Niagara took a number of interesting turns this week. The Town of Niagara Farmland Conservancy says it will file a lawsuit against the George Mannoe family, the former owners of a 26-acre parcel located on the east side of Miller Road after they decided to sell to another buyer, Alexis Johnson.

As the Lewiston-Porter School District continues the restart from the effects of COVID-19, its Community Education program is taking on a whole new route for fall 2020. While other districts consider their options, Lew-Port announced Community Ed would be going 100% virtual for the semester.

The Tool Library announced that, starting today, it will expand its tool sharing service to allow membership from eight Western New York counties. Edward Tase Jr. of Lockport was elected first vice president of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York at its 148th annual convention, which was held virtually (due to COVID-19) Aug. 22. Tase has served in a number of leadership roles within FASNY, most recently as a member of its board of directors, and now assumes new statewide responsibilities on behalf of New York's volunteer fire service.
