The New York State Thruway Authority recently announced that, weather permitting, it would begin replacement of the southbound deck on the North Grand Island Bridge to Grand Island Monday, March 15. The project, expected to continue to September, is part of the Thruway Authority's $55 million bridge rehabilitation project.

2015 marks the 10th year Grand Island High School business teacher and DECA club adviser Cheryl Chamberlain has taken her qualifying students to the New York State DECA Conference in Rochester. This year was the largest contingent of GI DECA as 54 traveled to states, where over 2,000 people were in attendance.
