New York State Police in Zone II conducted a five-day traffic safety initiative from Nov. 21 to 25. Zone II covers Erie and Wyoming counties. Police conducted numerous traffic details, including Operation Hang Up, which targeted distracted drivers, DWI checkpoints, DWI saturation details, and speed details on the area Interstates.

Ceretto: Military grants will boost local economy

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto applauded the announcement Friday from Gov. Andrew Cuomo that the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station will receive $425,000 from two state grants. These grants will help the Niagara County Center for Economic Development promote the importance of the 914th and 107th Airlift Wings and support the development of local jobs in conjunction with these two units' missions.

At approximately 9:20 a.m. Nov. 22, Town of Niagara Police officers were dispatched for a report of a missing 8-year-old male from B Street in Cayuga Village. The parents reported that the juvenile male "went missing" from the residence after last being seen on the front porch.
