The Niagara County Department of Health Nursing Division, in partnership with the Niagara County Office for the Aging, is offering a free diabetes self-management workshop. The series is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the North Tonawanda Library, 505 Meadow Drive. It will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

On June 1, 10-year-old Gavin Burns was injured in a lawnmower accident at his home in Lewiston. Mercy Flight took him to Oishei Children's Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors were able to save Gavin's leg, but, unfortunately, they were not able to save his foot, which had to be amputated just above his ankle.

The Women Of The Moose Chapter 1940 will hold its eighth annual golf tournament at Hyde Park Golf Course on Saturday, June 30. The event has a shotgun start at noon with lunch prior to the start at 11 a.m. at the course and a steak dinner at the Moose Lodge in Lewiston after the tournament.

These phones will be donated to Cell Phones For Soldiers. The phones were collected at AT&T stores and UAW Locals across Western New York (including Lockport, Buffalo, Tonawanda and Hamburg).

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, the first nonprofit in the nation to manage and operate an historic urban park system, on Thursday broke the Guinness World Records title for the "Longest Line of Garden Flamingos." Breaking the current record by an additional 92 flamingos, the organization placed 1,500 plastic pink #FLOmingos (Fredrick Law Olmsted ...
