The Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) urges everyone to exercise caution and keep fire safety in mind when decorating for the holidays. When holiday lights and other decorations are not used properly, they can cause fires, injuries and even death.

Niagara Falls City Councilman Chris Voccio has scheduled his "Coffee with Chris" events for the first five months of 2019. These events will be held at 9 a.m. on the first Saturdays of each month. The January and March events will be at Knack's Parkview Cafe, while the February, April and May events will be at Power City Eatery.

The New York Power Authority is implementing a wide‑reaching, multiyear transmission life extension and modernization (TLEM) program to replace and refurbish transmission assets at sites across the state. The $726 million program, which encompasses the switchyards, substations, transmission line structures and hardware, submarine cables and rights of way that comprise NYPA's transmission system, began in 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
