Niagara County Community College student Aaron Lilly, the son of Ken and Karen Lilly, was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Lewiston Garden Club. Lilly is majoring in horticulture.

As part of its "Dialogues on disABILITY Speaker Series," the Museum of disABILITY History will welcome artist and photographer Char Szabo-Perricelli. The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Museum of disABILITY History, 3826 Main St., Buffalo.
The artist will host a candid Q-and-A, as well as a presentation that will focus on architecture and the ability of photography to preserve and uphold the integrity of historic structures. Szabo-Perricelli will also share observations on the JN Adam Developmental Center, as well as her reflections on social attitudes toward people with disabilities.

It certainly could be. That's Alan Hastings' plan. The Silo Restaurant proprietor has recently taken over the historic Frontier House. He reopened the parking lot and is working with the Village of Lewiston and local elected leaders to convert the building into a microbrewery, restaurant and inn.

Last spring, I wrote a story in the Sentinel about the Canadian geese invading our area, coming from the south. Also mentioned was about how loads of these migrating birds have taken up permanent residence in some northern climes and there seems to be more and more each year.

The 2013 season came to a close last Saturday night with the annual King of the Hill events sponsored by Investor's Services. Twin $1,000 to win 100-lap mains for the Investor's Services Sportsman and Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks highlighted the weekend. A total of 150 cars participated in the two-day affair.
