Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that, as part of the Kensington Expressway project, the New York State Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, is planning to make improvements to approximately nine miles of local street whiles enhancing accommodations for pedestrians in the immediate vicinity of the project.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Chevelle Sherrill, age 44, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty this morning to manslaughter in the first degree in the killing of Calvin Wroten, age 48, also of Niagara Falls, on Jan. 5, 2022. Sherrill admitted to shooting Wroten, who was her boyfriend, with a shotgun inside the apartment they shared.
