$8 million in infrastructure funding for Buffalo & Niagara Falls airports

Congressman Brian Higgins announced $8,771,135 in federal grant funding awarded to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA) and Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG). The funding is provided through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and awarded to airports across the country through the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Infrastructure Grant program.

Rich Family Foundation funds college dreams of thousands of high-school scholars with $1 million grant to Say Yes Buffalo

Rich Family Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Rich Products, has announced a $1 million grant to the Say Yes Buffalo Endowment Campaign. The gift, which will be distributed over the next five years, directly removes financial barriers to thousands of Buffalo public and charter high-school graduates who seek to earn a certificate, associate's or bachelor's degree. And it doubles the foundation's previous donation to Say Yes - a five-year grant of $500,000 awarded in 2016.

M&T Bank expands ATM service in New York in partnership with Delta Sonic

M&T Bank continues to make investments in its branch and ATM network. On Thursday, the company announced it has added 20 ATMs to its network in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, and Erie, Pennsylvania, through a partnership with Delta Sonic, the region's largest automatic car wash and gas station chain. The new ATMs expand surcharge-free account access for M&T Bank customers.

Hochul: Minority and women-owned business enterprise utilization rate leads nation at 30.51%

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced New York state has surpassed its official utilization rate goal for minority-and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) on state contracts with 30.51% - the highest in the country - for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Additionally, more than $3 billion in state contracts were awarded to MWBE firms during the same time period, with more than $21 billion in state contracts awarded since 2011.

In celebration of the holidays and to show appreciation to many of Niagara Falls' finest for all they do to keep the community safe - especially during the pandemic - AT&T purchased lunch for 100 police officers and other first responders working out of Niagara Falls Police Department's headquarters on Wednesday. AT&T hired Niagara County's own Dirty Bird Chicken N' Waffles food truck to provide the meals in front of the police department.

National Grid restores power to 97% of upstate New York customers impacted by damaging windstorm

National Grid crews have restored power to 212,000, or 97%, of the nearly 221,000 upstate New York customers impacted by the severe windstorm that caused significant and widespread damage across the region over the weekend. The storm brought gusts of up to 80 mph in some regions and left behind hundreds of broken utility poles, damaged transformers, toppled trees, tree limbs and downed wires.
Mount St. Mary Academy students make 'Cards for a Cause'
