Matt Nix signs broadcast direct deal with FOX Entertainment

Acclaimed series creator, writer and producer Matt Nix ("Burn Notice," "The Gifted" and upcoming series "True Lies") has signed a broadcast direct deal with FOX Entertainment, it was announced by Michael Thorn, president of scripted programming, FOX Entertainment.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced a federal grant totaling $500,000 was awarded to the Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB). Funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and awarded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Accelerated Cancer Screening program, the grant is designed to improve access to screenings and early detection in Western New York's underserved communities.

Hochul launches initiative to offer fully paid parental leave to New York state employees

Gov. Kathy Hochul has launched a "nation-leading initiative to offer fully paid parental leave benefits to New York state employees," her team said. "The governor announced in a policy bulletin that more than 10,000 unrepresented state employees will be eligible to receive 12 weeks of fully paid leave to use for bonding with a newborn, fostered or adopted child. The majority of employees will be able to take leave starting today."
