‘February Fun’ features family-friendly activities at local destinations

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York (Highmark BCBSWNY) is presenting its seventh annual “February Fun,” a week-long series of free activities for families to enjoy during winter break (Sunday, Feb. 19, through Saturday, Feb. 25).

“This year more than ever, we know that families in our community are looking for ways to get out of the house and have fun during this winter break,” said Maureen Hanagan, manager, community affairs, Highmark BCBSWNY. “Highmark BCSBWNY is proud to offer families an exciting lineup of free and fun activities to take part in while school is out.”

The local health plan is carrying on its annual tradition by partnering with community organizations to offer activities and events for families and children of all ages. Events include free skates at the Ice at Canalside and Classic Rink in East Aurora, “Family Fun Day” at Explore & More Children’s Museum, and the City of Buffalo’s “Buy Black Buffalo” event at the Broadway Market. This year’s schedule also boasts the return of a fan favorite: the “KeyBank Center Free Skate.” Families are invited to join Sabretooth on the ice for a free skate and complimentary refreshments.
