On Wednesday at approximately 7:57 p.m., the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Buffalo Avenue to investigate a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle.
A 56-year-old Niagara Falls man was operating a 1983 Harley Davidson westbound on Buffalo Avenue when he was allegedly struck by an eastbound 2021 Toyota making a left turn onto the I-190 north on-ramp. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with severe head and facial trauma. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old Grand Island woman, was uninjured and is cooperating in the investigation.
The crash management team closed off a portion of Buffalo Avenue for approximately four hours to gather evidence.
This investigation is continuing.
