Preparations for Erie County's annual Fall Fest celebration are well underway as the county department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry prepares to welcome visitors to Como Lake Park in Lancaster from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 2, for the free seasonal event. On Tuesday, Dash's Markets donated 500 Live Well Erie Healthy Snack packs for families and children to enjoy during the event, while supplies last.
ECDOH: Prepare for winter with a flu vaccine

The Erie County Department of Health strongly recommends a flu vaccine for everyone ages 6 months and older this fall. To encourage county residents to get vaccinated against flu, Deputy Executive Maria Whyte and Commissioner of Health Dr. Gale Burstein received their flu vaccination Tuesday at a clinic for Erie County employees run by Wegmans.

Special Olympics New York has opened student registration for its first "Cool School Polar Plunge," an entire day dedicated to Western New York students who commit to raising funds for local Special Olympics athletes by plunging into the cold water at Woodlawn Beach State Park on Friday, Dec. 3. First Student will award $1,000 scholarships to the top male and female fundraisers, who will also be crowned "king and queen" at the event.

Integrity Music's and Running Club Records' Citizens has reimagined their GMA Dove-nominated album, "The Joy of Being," as a live recorded album with today's release, "The Joy of Being Together." The new album features the original tracks as well as six additional ones from previously released songs recorded live. Celebrating a decade together, Citizens recorded the album in a church near the University of Washington.
