Western New York philanthropic community announces fund to support immediate needs in response to COVID-19

Nearly 20 local philanthropic organizations have come together to announce the Western New York COVID-19 Community Response Fund in partnership with the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County. The fund will be used to address the community's most immediate needs in the eight counties of Western New York, with an initial focus on the areas of health, human services, food and child care, and to address the needs of front-line responders.

Today, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Jovita Carranza announced changes to help borrowers still paying back SBA loans from previous disasters. By making this change, deferments through Dec. 31, 2020, will be automatic. Now, borrowers of home and business disaster loans do not have to contact SBA to request deferment.
