The fifth annual Oliver Street Art Festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 4, on Oliver Street (between Schenck and Robinson streets), North Tonawanda. The event will feature more than 60 local artists working in various media such as painting, photography, crafts, jewelry-making and metal smith work.

The Niagara Wine Trail will sponsor the annual Niagara USA Wine Festival in Lewiston's Academy Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29. It will be the 10th annual wine festival in Lewiston, promoting the local wineries in Niagara, Orleans and Monroe counties along the Niagara Wine Trail USA. The festival will run from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon until 6 p.m. Sunday.

The ongoing process on deciding the long-term operations fate of CWM Chemical Services LLC took another step forward Tuesday at the Lewiston-Porter Creek Road campus. Edward Pawenski was honored posthumously for his dedication to the establishment of Niagara County Community College at the June board meeting. The board of trustees passed a resolution to honor Pawenski for his service to NCCC, presenting a plaque to his family, including his grandson - Niagara County Legislator Richard Andres.

USA Niagara Development Corp. HAS revealed a new sculpture based on the flowing waters of Niagara Falls by local artist Jesse Walp in downtown Niagara Falls. The towering sculpture is located on Old Falls Street where millions of tourists visit each year.

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning is reminding area anglers of the upcoming 2018 Cost FLW (Fishing League Worldwide) Tournament Series, which will be held July 26-28 and will launch from the Safe Harbor Marina on the Outer Harbor. The premium bass fishing tournament has 160 boats already registered with approximately 350 participants anticipated, but it is expected roughly 200 boats will be registered by the start of the event.
