A new member winery and a bottle purchase rewards program are new for Niagara USA Wine Festival's 10th year
The Niagara Wine Trail will sponsor the annual Niagara USA Wine Festival in Lewiston's Academy Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29. It will be the 10th annual wine festival in Lewiston, promoting the local wineries in Niagara, Orleans and Monroe counties along the Niagara Wine Trail USA. The festival will run from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon until 6 p.m. Sunday.
Festival attendees may purchase tickets in advance for $25 through the festival website, www.NiagaraUSAWineFestival.com. All online purchases made by 9 p.m. Friday, July 27, will receive $5 worth of coupons when checking in (valid toward bottle purchases at the festival). Tickets will be available for purchase during both days of the festival for $30.
Non-drinking attendees are welcome at no charge.
All tickets include a festival wine glass and tasting pass booklet, which attendees will present to each of the 17 participating wineries to receive three tastes of wine, mead or cider for a total of 51 samples that may be spread throughout the two days. Patrons are advised to retain their tasting glass and booklet if attending more than one day. Wine pick-up service is available, so customers may keep their hands free while enjoying the festival.
Food items are not included in the festival ticket price. Local vendors and food trucks will be on hand both days offering a wide variety of food and refreshments for festivalgoers to purchase.
New for this 10th year is a Niagara Wine Trail rewards program and tastings by Liten Buffel winery.
Buffel joined the wine trail in the beginning of 2018. The winery specializes in pinot noir, Syrah and Riesling wines, using traditional winemaking methods and sustainably grown grapes.
Samples from other member wineries include: 810 Meadworks, Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, A Gust of Sun Winery, BlackBird Cider Works, Chateau Niagara Winery, Freedom Run Winery, Lake Ontario Winery, Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Long Cliff Vineyards & Winery, Midnight Run Wine Cellars, Niagara Landing Wine Cellars, Schulze Vineyards & Winery, Schwenk Wine Cellars, The Winery at Marjim Manor, Victorianbourg Wine Estate and Vizcarra Vineyards.
For those who want to turn their favorite tastes into bottle purchases, the Niagara Wine Trail rewards program gives an incentive for doing so during the festival. For every two cases of wine purchased throughout the weekend, an attendee may earn a complimentary ticket to the Niagara Wine Trail's December "Holiday Happening" event (a $30 value). For every six bottles purchased, attendees will earn a reusable wine tote, while supplies last. There is no limit on how many wine totes a customer may earn.
Live music and wine education seminars are free and open to all festival attendees both days. Designated drivers and festival participants under the age of 21 are admitted free of charge. Parking for the festival is free in the Village of Lewiston. Those tasting during the festival will be required to show a photo ID at the entrance to receive a wristband both days.
A full list of participating wineries, vendors and schedule of events may be found at www.NiagaraUSAWineFestival.com
