Under the IRS's move, Americans who claim the recovery rebate credit will not have their stimulus garnished or diminished by existing federal tax liabilities.

New York Farm Bureau members continued to make generous food donations during a challenging year for so many families in need. This past weekend, American Farm Bureau Federation recognized New York Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) program for its efforts to donate more than 8 million pounds of food to the regional food banks across the state last year. That was the second-highest donation total in the country for 2020, behind Florida.

Assemblyman Angelo Morinello is commending state education officials for their decision to cancel Regents exams that are not federally required. Officials approved the move on Monday following unanimous support from educators, including NYSUT. Morinello vocally opposed the federal government decision to hold any standardized testing this school year due to the multitude of challenges and inconsistencies within school districts during the pandemic.

Use along the Erie Canalway Trail and Champlain Canalway Trail increased in 2020, according to the 2020 "Who's on the Trail" report from Parks & Trails New York and the New York State Canal Corp. The Canalway Trail system as a whole saw an estimated 4.2 million visits in 2020, including just under 4 million visits to the 360-mile Erie Canalway Trail between Albany and Buffalo, and approximately 288,000 visits to the 90-mile Champlain Canalway Trail between Waterford and Whitehall.
