The board of directors of the Buffalo City Mission announced the appointment of Marilyn Forcucci as interim CEO and executive director, effective April 23. This transition follows the decision by current CEO and Executive Director Aubrey Calhoun to step down after nearly two decades of dedicated service to the organization.

New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) are urging customers to find relief for unpaid bills for their electricity and/or gas service. The winter restrictions on service disconnections have ended, meaning customers with a financial need for help with unpaid bills should act now to keep their service on.

The Lewiston Community Lions Club recently recognized Lion Diana and First Vice President Greg Hanson (center), who were honored with the Lion of the Year awards. The Hansons have been dedicated members of the club since 2022 and have served in various leadership roles. They've been actively involved in many club initiatives, including the annual Village of Lewiston Earth Day cleanup.

On Saturday, New York State Sen. Sean Ryan announced he secured a $1 million capital grant to fund a renovation project at the Buffalo Irish Center. Ryan announced the funding at a special celebration that featured music from Buffalo's Emerald Isle Band, a performance by students from the Rince na Tiarna Irish Dance School, and a poetry reading by Keelie Sheridan of the Irish Classical Theatre Co.
