Buffalo City Mission announces leadership transition

The board of directors of the Buffalo City Mission announced the appointment of Marilyn Forcucci as interim CEO and executive director, effective April 23. This transition follows the decision by current CEO and Executive Director Aubrey Calhoun to step down after nearly two decades of dedicated service to the organization.

The winter restrictions on service disconnections have ended, meaning customers with a financial need for help with unpaid bills should act now to keep their service on.

On Saturday, New York State Sen. Sean Ryan announced he secured a $1 million capital grant to fund a renovation project at the Buffalo Irish Center. Ryan announced the funding at a special celebration that featured music from Buffalo's Emerald Isle Band, a performance by students from the Rince na Tiarna Irish Dance School, and a poetry reading by Keelie Sheridan of the Irish Classical Theatre Co.
