The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is partnering with Complete Senior Care to offer a social and forum to assist caregivers of those living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.

The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Health Association of Niagara County (HANCI), located at 1302 Main St., Niagara Falls.

“No individual or family should navigate the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease alone,” said Courtney Sipes, director of community engagement for the WNY chapter. “This event is an opportunity for caregivers to come together, learn more about the disease, share concerns and learn what services are available to assist them.”

“Supporting people with Alzheimer's and other dementias means also supporting their caregivers, who are an integral part of our senior health care community,” said Virginia McAuliffe, Complete Senior Care’s executive director. “We are thankful for organizations like the Alzheimer's Association and are proud to partner with them on this event.”

Boxed lunches and caregiver resources will be available for those who participate. Interested individuals are encouraged to register at bit.ly/CaregiverSocial525 or by calling 800-272-3900.

The program is supported in part by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
