The Zonta Club of Grand Island is once again stepping up to empower local women with two generous scholarship opportunities aimed at advancing careers and changing lives.
This year, the club will offer two awards, each valued at $500, to support women of Grand Island who are striving to enhance their professional journeys. Whether you’re returning to the workforce or launching your career, the Zonta Club of Grand Island is here to help you take the next step forward.
The Career Advancement Award is available to a Grand Island woman over the age of 25 who is seeking financial assistance to upgrade her skills, reenter the workforce, or complete her education. Applicants must provide proof of acceptance into their intended course, program, workshop or seminar, along with their application.
The Memorial Scholarship targets younger Grand Island women – ages 18 to 25 – who are enrolled in a degree or certification program, but are not currently high school seniors. This scholarship helps bridge the financial gap for women early in their post-secondary paths.
To apply, candidates must submit an application, three letters of reference, and documentation proving participation in a career-enhancing program. The deadline to apply is May 15.
Those interested can request an application by contacting Donna Graham at 716-697-1447.
A proud chapter of Zonta International, the Grand Island club has been committed to improving the lives of women and girls in the community since its founding on Feb. 1, 1958. Zonta International itself was founded in Buffalo on Nov. 8, 1919, and continues to champion gender equity across the globe.
