The Buffalo Zoo has teamed up with Zoo Atlanta (Georgia) and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (Ohio) to form a new gorilla troop located at Zoo Atlanta. Amari, the 10-year western lowland gorilla, born at the Buffalo Zoo in 2010, recently traveled with the Zoo Atlanta animal care team from Buffalo to Atlanta.

If it isn't properly secured on a vehicle, the tree can become a dangerous projectile, endangering others on the road. Research from AAA finds road debris caused more than 200,000 crashes during a four-year period, resulting in approximately 39,000 injuries and 500 deaths.

Buffalo's rich and detailed presidential and political history is now on display at the Buffalo Presidential Center, which on Monday unveiled its new, permanent, 1,700-square-foot space at the Downtown Central Library in Buffalo. Until now, the center has operated without a permanent home space and has relied on the collaboration and generosity of other local and regional organizations for a place to gather audiences, share information, and display selections from an extensive collection of more than 10,000 political artifacts.

On Wednesday, local officials were on hand as Heart, Love & Soul food pantry cut the ribbon on the newly constructed Sr. Beth Brosmer Center. The center will house its new Daybreak program - a collaboratively designed one-stop program involving more than 30 partner agencies. The organization says the Daybreak program will increase access to services and offer additional support for people experiencing homelessness.

The Buffalo History Museum has opened a new exhibit in collaboration with Buffalo State College's Patricia H. and Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department. The exhibition, "Fifty Years of Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Art in Western New York," displays many of the museum's objects that have undergone conservation treatment. The exhibit is part of a broader community celebration for the 50th year of the conservation program.
