Christian pop-acoustic band I AM THEY is bringing its spring headlining tour “Thankful for the Scars” to Grand Island. Presented by Family Life, the concert will be held, Saturday, March 28, at Cornerstone Church, 1290 Whitehaven Road. Opening performances will feature special guest John Tibbs.

The tour arrives behind I AM THEY’s second full-length release, “Trial & Triumph,” which includes the chart-topping hit song “Scars.” The album tackles the outwardly opposing themes of suffering and victory and contemplates both through a different lens.

“It’s natural for people to hide their scars; whether they’re physical, emotional or spiritual,” said Matt Hein of I AM THEY. “We’re afraid of what people might think. But as we thought more about Jesus, we realized he didn’t hide his scars. In fact, his were a symbol of sacrifice, a reminder of life and love, not death and failure. What if we look at our lives the same way? What if we believed that everything we’ve gone through is working together for God’s purposes?”

Sponsored by ChildFund International, the 20-city tour kicks off March 6 in Wisconsin and runs through April 26 in North Dakota with Tibbs the supporting artist.

General admission tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Advance ticket sales end at noon March 25. To purchase tickets, call Family Life at 1-800-927-9083 or visit fln.org/tickets.
