Higgins requests meeting with Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland to address Underused Housing Tax

In response to the government of Canada's decision to impose an annual 1% tax on the value of vacant and underused properties that are not owned by Canadians, Congressman Brian Higgins wrote a letter requesting a meeting with Canadian Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.

Congressman Brian Higgins, D-NY-26, joined local veterans Monday to announce the Boxing Therapy for Parkinson's Access Act of 2022 (H.R. 6774). Shoreline restoration project underway near Buckhorn Island State Park

A shoreline protection program is currently underway in the West River near Buckhorn Island State Park. Dan Dinsmore, field superintendent for LDC Construction, said the Grand Island company, owned by Lyle Dinsmore, is doing the project for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
