In celebration of the holidays and to show appreciation to many of Niagara Falls' finest for all they do to keep the community safe - especially during the pandemic - AT&T purchased lunch for 100 police officers and other first responders working out of Niagara Falls Police Department's headquarters on Wednesday. AT&T hired Niagara County's own Dirty Bird Chicken N' Waffles food truck to provide the meals in front of the police department.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced the passage of H.R. 1667, the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act. Carolynn Welch, executive director of the Westminster Economic Development Initiative (WEDI), announced an additional $1 million in new gifts have been pledged to "Building Community, Building Opportunity, Building the New West Side Bazaar," its $7.5 million capital campaign. Empire State Development on Friday announced the beginning of stabilization work on the roof and foundation of the Michigan Street Baptist Church. The Buffalo Niagara Freedom Station Coalition project, a not-for-profit organization that owns the church, is one of the recipients of a portion of ESD's $65 million East Side Corridor Economic Development Fund, and will allow for increased tourism and visitation to Buffalo's historic Michigan Street African American Corridor.
