AT&T also educated attending first responders on FirstNet, America’s first responder and public safety mobile network

In celebration of the holidays and to show appreciation to many of Niagara Falls’ finest for all they do to keep the community safe – especially during the pandemic – AT&T purchased lunch for 100 police officers and other first responders working out of Niagara Falls Police Department’s headquarters on Wednesday. AT&T hired Niagara County’s own Dirty Bird Chicken N’ Waffles food truck to provide the meals in front of the police department.

The event also provided police officers and first responders that attend an opportunity to learn about FirstNet, a public safety network that provides users access to 24-hours-a-day priority and preemption across voice and data. Representatives from AT&T also had giveaways available and provided information and demonstrations about the benefits of FirstNet.

A press release noted, “This program is part of AT&T’s commitment to supporting first responders in New York and across the county. The company is providing random acts of kindness across the Empire State to show appreciation to first responders and public safety professionals, especially as they continue to fight the pandemic and keep the communities they serve safe.”

AT&T also provided 100 lunches to first responders and frontline staff at Erie County Medical Center on Friday as part of the statewide program.

FirstNet is the only nationwide, high-speed broadband communications platform dedicated to and purpose-built for America’s first responders and the extended public safety community. It is built with AT&T in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority – an independent agency within the federal government.
