Erie County parks get greener with addition of electric car-charging stations

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz was joined Tuesday by Erie County Department of Public Works Commissioner William Geary, Coordinator of Clean Communities of WNY Craig Jackson and Tony Hazzan of NYSERDA to cut the ribbon and officially announce the installation of a new dual-port electric vehicle charging station at Chestnut Ridge Park.
Mount St. Mary's goes pink

Associates and volunteers of Mount St. Mary's Hospital celebrated "Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Day" on Friday. Staff throughout the hospital wore pink to enhance awareness while information displays were provided in public areas.

Elia was in the district to meet with Lewiston-Porter teaching faculty and administrators for a focused discussion on the district's approach to Annual Professional Performance Reviews (APPR).

Buffalo City Mission launches fall campaign to raise $2.35 million by end of 2018

On Thursday, the Buffalo City Mission announced the launch of its annual fall fundraising campaign and the kickoff of its third "Mission Possible: Food Drive Challenge" to help educate the younger generation on the importance of becoming an advocate for those who are less fortunate. Both initiatives represent important annual efforts to advance the City Mission's work in providing critical programs and services for the homeless of Buffalo.

Geissler donates sculpture to new building at NCCC

Niagara County Community College distinguished alumna and nationally acclaimed artist Susan Geissler, Class of 1974, recently donated a sculpture to the NCCC Child Development Center. The sculpture, "Puddle Jumper," is based on childhood memories of rainy-day playtimes. It will be permanently displayed in the center's foyer inside the new NCCC Learning Commons on the Sanborn campus.

At this year's Peach Festival, Santana Sawma was crowned the new Peach Queen. She steps in place of 2017-18 Niagara County Peach Queen Jamie Hagerty, who raised $4,000 for Hillside Family of Agencies through multiple fundraisers, as well as volunteering for numerous causes in Niagara County.
Ortt joins Niagara County community organizations for awards ceremony

'Rockout Cancer' at Stone House
