Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn has been selected to serve as an at-large member of the board of directors for the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA). The appointment comes 19 months after Flynn was elected as Erie County district attorney.

USA Niagara Development Corp. HAS revealed a new sculpture based on the flowing waters of Niagara Falls by local artist Jesse Walp in downtown Niagara Falls. The towering sculpture is located on Old Falls Street where millions of tourists visit each year.

The National Association of County and City Health Officials recognized the Erie County Department of Health as Large Local Health Department of the Year at the 2018 NACCHO annual conference held this week in New Orleans. ECDOH received the award as a result of the department's communitywide leadership in developing programs and strategies to combat the opioid epidemic.

Niagara County Department of Social Services employees recently held a "Wear Blue Day" to raise awareness about child abuse and to support the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, a service of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. By wearing blue and donating a dollar or more each, they demonstrated their commitment to preventing child abuse and supporting strong families. The effort raised $250 for the Child Advocacy Center.
