Old Fort Niagara will present its final re-enactment of the season, War of 1812 Encampment, on Sept. 3-4, when the fort's staff, volunteers and 150 regional re-enactors will present history demonstrations from the War of 1812 for visitors to our National Historic Landmark.

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. announced the christening Friday of the Harbor Queen, a new double-decker tour boat docked at Canalside. The newly built, multi-hulled boat is the latest to be added to the fleet of Buffalo River History Tours, and will carry passengers on daily, informative 90-minute narrated tours of Buffalo's waterfront.

Community Missions will hold its annual duck race at the Canal Fest of the Tonawandas at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23. The race will take place in the Erie Canal between Tonawanda and North Tonawanda. Thousands of spectators are expected over the weeklong festival, running Sunday, July 17, through Sunday, July 24.
