Erie County Fair to host 'I Love The 90's Tour' featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base & Young MC

Travel back to the ’90s this August at the Erie County Fair! Some of the most iconic names in rap, hip-hop and R&B will come together for the “I Love The 90’s Tour” at the Fairgrounds. This concert comes to the Buffalo News Grandstand on Saturday, Aug. 10, and invites attendees to reminisce about the decade – featuring some of the most iconic artists from that era, including Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Young MC. 

Vanilla Ice is an American rapper, actor and television host. He is best known for “Ice Ice Baby,” which was the first rap single to reach No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart. He also reached No. 4 with “Play that Funky Music,” while his album, “To the Extreme,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. He also ignited a cult classic when he appeared in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II” with his song “Ninja Rap.” 

Rob Base burst onto the American hip-hop scene with his debut album, “It Takes Two,” which reached No. 4 on the Billboard R&B albums chart and was certified Platinum and charted three top hits. Another favorite was “Get On The Dance Floor,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard dance singles chart. Rob Base’s second album, “The Incredible Base,” was a top 20 Billboard R&B album and was certified Gold. 

Young MC is a British-Born American rapper, singer and actor. Everyone has jammed to his top hit, “Bust a Move.” His debut album, “Stone Cold Rhymin,’ ” was a top 10 hit on the Billboard album and rap charts. Young MC has also acted in several films, made numerous cameo appearances, and wrote and directed the film, “Justice Served,” featuring the song “Nocturnal.”

√ Free concert with Paul Russell – Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

√ “I Love The 90’s Tour” with Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Young MC – Aug. 10

√ Gabriel Iglesias – Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

√ Free concert with Warrant – Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

√ Travis Tritt with Aaron Tippin and Pam Tillis – Aug. 16 at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the paid shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. June 7 at www.ECFair.org. For members of the Erie County Agricultural Society, tickets will go on sale one day early. All tickets purchased in advance for grandstand events will include admission to the Erie County Fair on the day of the show.

The Erie County Agricultural Society produces the Erie County Fair. It is a private, not-for-profit membership organization established in 1819. The ECAS mission is to preserve and enhance, by educational endeavors, the agricultural and historical legacy of New York state.
