For the second consecutive year, Saints Peter & Paul School in Williamsville is hosting a weeklong program to encourage childhood literacy.

The Niagara County Youth Bureau will return as a sponsor for the 2024 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program ensures that children who are economically disadvantaged continue to receive nutritious meals during summer vacation. Meals are comparable to the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs (NSBP and NSLP, respectively) throughout the school year.

Price Rite Marketplace and the University at Buffalo football program donated 18 sacks of food to the New Beginnings Food Pantry at the Price Rite of Amherst on Thursday. The donation is a result of the organizations' annual "Sack Hunger" campaign, designed to help tackle food insecurity in the Amherst community.

Recipients of FeedMore WNY's home-delivered meal program received a timely gift along with their meals this week, thanks to a donation from Buffalo State University and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. The university and health care organization donated 5,000 pairs of glasses to safely view the solar eclipse to FeedMore WNY for distribution to older adults and homebound neighbors who rely on FeedMore WNY's home-delivered meals program.

The New York Power Authority on Wednesday announced the completion of a new water treatment system and heating units at the Tuscarora Nation School.
