Artpark & Company hosted its annual Summer Solstice Celebration on Saturday. The event was coordinated and directed by Kate LoConti, Jon Lehrer, Sonia Clark and Tanis Winslow. It featured the Fairy House Festival, where children and groups made tiny homes from earthen materials; dance and theatrical performances by nymphs and fairies; T-shirt and potion-making; a tea room; poetry and musical selections in conjunction with Bloomsday Buffalo; numbers by Grand Island Dance/Lewiston Dance; cooking demonstrations; a Percussion Garden installation; and a grand concert by William Close and the Earth Harp Collective featuring the Lehrer dancers performing on the recreated Gene Davis "Niagara 1979" "Painted Parking Lot."
This year's celebration was held primarily in the Artpark Amphitheater area. The name sponsor was KeyBank. (Photos and video by Joshua Maloni)
