Tops Friendly Markets is pleased to welcome local chef Alex Dispence, and his Supchef Pizza Co. Dough, at more than 130 Tops locations throughout its footprint.

Tops explained:

Alex, or more commonly known to his million-plus Facebook and TikTok followers, as Supchef, decided to make the venture into the pizza dough business, as it was the number one requested recipe on his social media channels.

And if you follow him you know why.

His flair for creating delicious food we all love to indulge in is undeniable. Oooey, gooey, cheese; loads of pepperoni; and now his own authentic crispy crust.

When asked where his passion came from in creating what almost seems like a Buffalo-centric menu, Alex noted, “I think it was more just creating the food I most liked to eat. Fine dining was just not fun for me anymore. I wanted to cook what I wanted to eat.”

And now, Western New Yorkers can cook right alongside this local chef with QR codes right on the dough’s packaging – linking to recipe inspiration and social videos where you’ll find an endless array of what made him an inspiration to begin with.

“This dough was designed so that folks like you and me could make amazing, pizzeria-quality pizza at home! It works great in home ovens and pizza ovens, or make a cast iron deep dish or a Sicilian-style pan pizza,” Alex said.

While Alex officially attended Niagara County Community College’s Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and worked as an executive chef in out-of-town resorts, as well as at Rich Products Corp., his inspiration started long before his formal training and experience.

“Even though I’ve been a chef since 2010, I was inspired to be a chef from my grandmother who was an amazing cook,” he said. “Being from a big Italian family, food was always around.”

And now Alex is surrounded by an extended family of supporters who want to see him succeed – like his partners at Tops, and manufacturer Mark DiDomenico of Al Cohen’s Bakery.

You can find Supchef Pizza Co. Dough in either the chilled or frozen cases at your local Tops Friendly Markets. Looking for inspiration before heading out to Tops to shop for your pizza fixings? Your taste buds will be tingling after watching one of his many videos at supchefpizzco on Instagram.
