Artpark & Company used extra-small font on its heavy-stock, 8-1/2-by-11 2023 season poster in order to cram in as many listings as possible. It doesn't escape me that this typographical method reflects the standard the performing, visual, educational and environmental arts venue has set by jam-packing summers with concerts, walks, tours and talks.

Reading garden planned for Grand Island Memorial Library

The Grand Island Memorial Library is planning to add a reading garden to the grassy area next to the building that faces the parking lot. The library will be called the Richard Earne Memorial Reading Garden, as a tribute to the late Richard Earne, who was a member of the Grand Island Rotary Club, as well as a member of the library board of trustees. He died on Sept. 18, 2022.

The event provided nearly 200 meals, which were given to the men's ministry at the Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise and the women's ministry located at Buffalo City Mission's Cornerstone Manor. All meals were donated in full by Lloyd Taco Truck.
