On Tuesday, Buffalo Sabres head coach Ron Rolston announced Joe Sacco was named to an assistant coaching position with the team. Sacco will start in his new role on Rolston's staff immediately, joining fellow assistant coach Teppo Numminen.

The Buffalo Sabres selected a league-high 11 prospects, including seven forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender, at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, which was held Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Buffalo also traded defenseman Andrej Sekera to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Jamie McBain and a second-round pick (35th overall) in this year's draft.

Mother Nature once again played the spoiler all over the northeast today, including at Ransomville Speedway. All night rains on Thursday gave way to gloomy but dry conditions through the early part of today, giving hope to all. Unfortunately, the rains returned at 3 p.m. forcing officials to pull the plug on tonight's program.
