ChrisFit Fest to offer free fitness classes at Academy Park

ChrisFit Personal Training & Wellness Center, along with Sparkle! Marketing and Events, will host the first ChrisFit Fest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Sunday, June 23, at Academy Park in Lewiston. The festival will feature free fitness classes, as well as health and wellness speakers and healthy food vendors.

Free interactive fitness classes will be held for both children and adults throughout the day. Kids' fitness activities will include an obstacle course and a martial arts demonstration, while adult classes will include Vinyasa yoga, Hatha yoga, Silversneakers, Turbokick and Bodyweight Boot Camp. In addition, lectures on various health and wellness topics will take place at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event will also feature a 5K family run/walk and a kids run around Academy Park. To register for the 5K, visit www.christfitfest.com or register on the day of the race between 7:30 and 8:45 a.m. Pre-registration and participation fee are required for the kids run. Each participating child will receive a medal and T-shirt.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to MercyFlight, the Niagara County SPCA and "Project Good Choices," an organization focused on improving the nutrition and exercise choices of today's youth.
