The Buffalo Sabres have assigned 11 players to the Rochester Americans (AHL) and have returned two players to their respective junior clubs. The Sabres' training camp roster is now at 38 players: 21 forwards, 12 defensemen and five goaltenders.

Josh Holloway ("Lost") joins the pilot "Colony" for USA Network. A co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, "Colony" was written and is executive produced by Carlton Cuse ("Lost," "Bates Motel") and Ryan Condal ("Hercules"). The project marks the first time Holloway and Cuse have reunited since "Lost" ended.

Officials at the Seneca Niagara Resorts & Casinos assure travelers to Niagara Falls that Exit 21, which leads to the Robert Moses Parkway on-ramp, remains open to traffic. Department of Transportation signs on the northbound Interstate 190 indicate Exit 21 to Buffalo Avenue is closed; however, the exit can still be taken to enter the Robert Moses Parkway.

The NFL's finance committee voted Wednesday to approve the sale of the Buffalo Bills to Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and his wife, and Kim.
WGRZ reported the $1.4 billion sale must be approved by a majority of NFL owners. They can vote accordingly when they meet Oct. 8 in New York.

TNT has entered into a licensing agreement with Marvel for the next five theatrical releases from Marvel Studios. The agreement includes the network television premiere windows for "Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is due in theaters next summer, and the third installment in the "Captain America" franchise, which is slated for release in 2016.
