Kearns reminds motorists of REAL ID deadline

Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns is reminding motorists of the May 7, 2025, deadline to obtain an enhanced or REAL ID, for which you will need to board a flight within the U.S., or enter certain federal buildings including military bases, unless you have a valid U.S. passport or another federally accepted form of identification.
NYS: Worksport Ltd. will expand operations, creating 280 new jobs in Erie County

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Worksport Ltd. will invest $6 million and expand its state-of-the-art facility in the Town of West Seneca, adding 280 new jobs to its workforce. The company, which is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, manufactures tonneau covers and solar-powered systems for pickup trucks.

At the Grand Island Memorial Library, approximately 300 voters come in Tuesday to cast ballots. Voter turnout was steady all day, unlike the presidential primary, when approximately 50 people came to vote. People who live in two election districts vote at the library. The districts were recently renumbered, although no district boundaries were changed.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced 51-year-old Steven Burr of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges to 32 years to life in prison. He received the maximum sentence for his conviction.
