April showers bring May flowers. So does the Grand Island High School PTSA plant sale!

The PTSA is partnering with Lavocat’s Family Greenhouse and Nursery for this annual fundraiser to support PTSA scholarships and programs for GIHS students. This year’s sale uses a voucher format to make it easy for customers to get the perfect plants.

Customers can preorder vouchers for 10-inch hanging baskets ($22.99), 4½ inch pots ($5.25), or annual flats ($19.99) online at GIHS.memberhub.com or by using an order form. All orders must be received by Sunday, April 28.

Vouchers will be available for pick up from GIHS PTSA on May 3 or can be mailed for a small fee. Then customers visit Lavocat’s (8441 County Road, East Amherst) to redeem the vouchers by June 15 and choose the exact plants they want.

Lavocat’s carries a wide variety of plants in different colors. Flowers and vegetables are available and can be mixed in the flats. There are 32 plants per flat, which allows customers to pick eight different four-packs.

GIHS PTSA hopes people will appreciate the chance to pick their own plants and support this year’s sale. GIHS PTSA plant chairperson Jennifer Walowitz said, “This fundraiser allows us to award four $500 scholarships to graduating seniors. So, your purchase today has a positive impact on a student’s tomorrow.”

For more information or to request an order form, contact Walowitz at 716-912-5139 or [email protected].
