Funding awarded through Federal Home Loan Bank of New York program will support Community Missions and its services for local residents
Univera Healthcare press release
Univera Healthcare announced Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc. will receive a $10,000 grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s Small Business Recovery Grant program.
As a local health plan, Univera Healthcare understands the complex needs of Western New York and is dedicated to helping the region thrive. Through its partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, Univera Healthcare had the opportunity to nominate an organization making a meaningful impact across the region.
“When families have reliable access to fresh, healthy foods, entire communities are stronger and healthier,” said Paul Valley, president of Univera Healthcare. “We are proud to support organizations like Community Missions, which work every day to address food insecurity and ensure those in need have access to the nutrition necessary to thrive.”
Community Missions has served the Niagara County community since 1925, providing an array of services to individuals and families facing homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, food insecurity, and other barriers to stability.
The $10,000 grant will support Community Missions’ capital project to construct a new food distribution center, expanding the organization's capacity to meet increasing demand for food assistance across Niagara County.
For more than 100 years, Community Missions has provided critical services to individuals and families in need – and demand continues to grow as many residents face economic challenges. The new facility will enhance the organization's ability to store, manage and distribute food efficiently, helping ensure that more individuals and families have access to nutritious meals and essential resources.
