Stapleton: Niagara County '2-3 weeks behind downstate' plateau

As downstate New York continues to see a plateau in the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations, and less coronavirus-related deaths each day, the New York City area is rapidly approaching its pandemic apex. Niagara County isn't quite moving that fast.

ABC to present coverage of all 3 days of NFL Draft

The 2020 NFL Draft will be presented across ABC, ESPN and NFL Network, April 23-25 - the second straight year that The Walt Disney Company has worked with the National Football League to offer a multi-network presentation for all seven rounds. ESPN and NFL Network will combine to offer a singular presentation across both networks, while ABC will present its own distinctive, primetime telecasts for rounds 1-3, in addition to simulcasting the ESPN and NFL Network telecast of rounds 4-7. The 2020 NFL Draft on ABC will air Thursday, April 23 (8 p.m. EDT), and Friday, April 24 (7 p.m.), live coast to coast.
Higgins: COVID-19 relief grants available for art organizations

Acting Niagara County Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti, along with Niagara County law enforcement partners, report drug overdose cases have increased during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of drug overdose cases dispatched by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office from Jan. 1 through April 6 has increased over 35% for the same time frame in 2019.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's Executive Order 202.8 of March 20, 2020 required non-essential businesses in New York State to reduce their onsite workforce by 100%. Only organizations and entities that were deemed essential by the Executive Order are exempt from these restrictions. Empire State Development (ESD) has updated its formal guidelines regarding essential businesses as of April 9, 2020. Please note that ESD's guidance is subject to change as the State adapts its response to combating COVID-19.
