I was elected to my first term in 2015 and it has been my pleasure to serve the good people of Lewiston. During the past three-and-a-half years, I've reviewed budgets with the Town Board members, and together we made painful cuts and supported budgets that increased fund balances and improved our bond rating. We put our political affiliations aside and have worked together and are still working together today. If we fail to work with one another, only the taxpayers will suffer.

The holiday season is quickly approaching and planning for the eighth annual Grand Island Light Up the Boulevard Electric Parade and Festival has begun. This annual family event is a joint venture between the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Grand Island, and the Grand Island Recreation Department.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced approaching fall weather would trigger trout and salmon migrations into Lake Ontario and Lake Erie tributaries. DEC encourages anglers to visit Great Lakes tributaries this year and experience some of the best trout and salmon fishing in North America. In addition to their recreational value, New York's Great Lakes tributary fisheries supported more than 835,000 angler days in 2017, generating more than $38 million to local economies.

Congressman Brian Higgins, D-NY-26, has learned the $14 million training and fitness center at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS) is not on the list of cuts at this time.
