At the Grand Island Memorial Library, approximately 300 voters come in Tuesday to cast ballots. Voter turnout was steady all day, unlike the presidential primary, when approximately 50 people came to vote. People who live in two election districts vote at the library. The districts were recently renumbered, although no district boundaries were changed.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced 51-year-old Steven Burr of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges to 32 years to life in prison. He received the maximum sentence for his conviction.
