From our data reported as of 2 p.m. today: We have 114 positive COVID-19 cases in Erie County. Our public health lab has 92 tests pending. Commercial and private labs are testing for COVID-19 and those results are available to ECDOH through the New York State Department of Health reporting system.

In an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus, Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued a mandate earlier this month forcing New York restaurants and bars to close their doors to the public. Once that happened, many of these eateries switched to an acceptable form of service: takeout and delivery.

Jim Millard, former president and CEO of Kenmore Mercy Hospital, is coming out of retirement to rejoin Catholic Health to support the health system's COVID-19 initiatives. He will serve as executive leader and incident commander of the system staffing center, which has been established in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Today, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Jovita Carranza announced changes to help borrowers still paying back SBA loans from previous disasters. By making this change, deferments through Dec. 31, 2020, will be automatic. Now, borrowers of home and business disaster loans do not have to contact SBA to request deferment.

On March 16, 2020, the New York Workers Compensation Board published a COVID-19 guidance document describing the anticipated impacts on the workers' compensation system due to the current public health crisis and steps taken by the board in response. In addition, the board has commenced mandatory remote-only virtual hearing attendance and continues to work to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, ongoing operations and benefit flow to injured workers.

Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel J. Stapleton on Monday said the county has received three new positive test results from the New York State Department of Health. As of this morning, Niagara County now has 12 positive results, 64 people quarantined, 12 in isolation and still four pending test results from last week.

Cuomo on Sunday accepted the recommendation of the Army Corps of Engineers for four temporary hospital sites in New York state in an effort to address imminent capacity issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The governor visited the four sites - the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, and locations at SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Old Westbury and the Westchester Convention Center — Saturday, and said New York is ready for the Army Corps of Engineers to begin construction immediately.
