On Easter Sunday, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo returned ventilators to the Pathways Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Niskayuna. Pathways Nursing home made an unsolicited contribution of these lifesaving machines to New York state as part of the ongoing efforts against COVID-19. The governor also delivered cookies baked by his daughters for staff and nursing home residents.

The state is currently conducting 300 of these antibody tests, and is on track to conduct 1,000 per day by next Friday and 2,000 per day by the following week.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's Executive Order 202.8 of March 20, 2020 required non-essential businesses in New York State to reduce their onsite workforce by 100%. Only organizations and entities that were deemed essential by the Executive Order are exempt from these restrictions. Empire State Development (ESD) has updated its formal guidelines regarding essential businesses as of April 9, 2020. Please note that ESD's guidance is subject to change as the State adapts its response to combating COVID-19.

On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order extending limitations he placed on social gatherings to slow the spread of COVID-19. His mandate, "which closed or otherwise restricted public or private businesses or places of public accommodation, and which required postponement or cancellation of all nonessential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. parties, celebrations, games, meetings or other social events) ... shall be continued ... until 11:59 p.m. on April 29, 2020, unless later extended by a future executive order."
