New York Sea Grant (NYSG) is providing New York state's freshwater marine industry for-hire boating sector with a series of six decals to encourage public compliance with boating-specific COVID-19 safety precautions. The outreach is part of the 2020 edition of NYSG's nationally recognized "Discover Clean and Safe Boating" campaign.

Though hospital visitation remains suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mount St. Mary's Hospital has implemented a program to comfort patients and their friends and families. "Gifts of Cheer" is the new initiative, created by the Mount St. Mary's Hospital Foundation following a request from the friend of a patient in the hospital.

In the interest of public safety, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has severely curtailed the ways in which people can gather together. Restaurants and bars are limited to takeout and delivery; movie theaters, bowling alleys, shopping malls and hair salons are temporarily closed; events are cancelled; and nonessential businesses have to reduce workforce 100%.

The American Red Cross currently has a critical need for blood donors of all blood types - especially type O - and platelet donors to make an appointment now to give and help replenish the blood supply after the holiday weeks. Right now, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of type O blood. To help tackle the critical need, the Red Cross and NFL are working together to offer one lucky winner a trip to Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
