Artpark & Company’s ninth annual Fairy House Festival returns to its original lower park location from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9.

This year, the festival attractions are highlighted by a performance by Ukrainian ethno-chaos band DakhaBrakha and “Color Constellation,” a fabric installation Virginia Melnyk.

Day passes for the event cost $10 and are on sale now.

The Fairy House Festival is known for its array of activities and immersive spaces that are inspired by art and nature. The Fairy House Competition features tiny fairy dwellings constructed by artists, community groups, schools, families and individuals. Three cash prize winners will be announced during the festival.

Other ongoing happenings include roaming fairies in 3-D by Uta Bekaia; craft and potion-making; face-painting; “Dancing Bubbles”; a themed tea tent; performances by Lewiston Dance; and food trucks.

Artpark is still accepting Fairy House Competition registrations. Visit www.artpark.net for information on how to enter.

DakhaBrakha, a world music quartet from Kiev, Ukraine, will make its Artpark debut at the Fairy House Festival, performing at 3 p.m. At the crossroads of Ukrainian folklore and theater, the group’s musical spectrum is intimate then riotous, plumbing the depths of contemporary roots and rhythms, designed to inspire cultural and artistic liberation.

DakhaBrakha has performed all over the world, appearing at numerous international music festivals, and selected as “Best Breakout Act” at Bonnaroo in 2014.

Melnyk’s “Color Constellation” is comprised of brightly colored fabric stretched to form large star-like shapes. The installation is completely interactive, allowing guests to step inside and experience color saturation. The visiting installation will only be on display at Artpark for the duration of the festival (noon-4 p.m.).

Melnyk’s work is rooted in playfulness in design and often incorporates colors with touches of whimsy. She has worked at leading architecture firms in L.A., London, New York City and Beijing. She is currently an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Purchase day passes online at tickets.com and artpark.net; by phone at 1-888-223-6000; or in person at the Artpark box office and at the entrance to the festival (450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston). The listed price includes a facility fee; additional fees apply for online and phone orders.
