Heart of Niagara teams up with community for 'A Taste of the Niagara Region'

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, a local rescue that has been saving the lives of unwanted, abandoned and homeless animals since 2012, will team up with local community groups for its annual fundraiser. The sixth annual "Heart to Heart: A Taste of the Niagara Region" will take place April 21, at the Cambria Wilson Volunteer Firehall in Lockport.
Community answers BPO's '$30K in 30 days' challenge with resounding success

To celebrate the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's first international tour in 30 years, BPO board member and Poland Tour Ambassador Cindy Abbott Letro and Francis Letro challenged the BPO to raise $30,000 in 30 days. In true Buffalo fashion, the community rose to the challenge.

Serving the community: Lewiston fire crews stage quick response in village

Lewiston fire crews are credited with staging a quick response to a structure fire in the village late last month. The Sept. 29 call on the 400 block of Plain Street involved a garage structure fire, fully engulfed in a historical section on the village's west side - an area of well-maintained residences, the nearby Lewiston Historical Museum and numerous businesses around the block on the Center Street strip.
