Military Times has named Niagara County Community College as a top school in "Best for Vets: Colleges 2017" rankings. The eighth annual rankings designation comes from Military Times' school-by-school survey of veteran and military student offerings and rates of academic achievement.

Wheatfield extended its solar power moratorium by three months on Monday after residents and local officials heard from planning consultant Andrew C. Reilly, who suggested fewer restrictions to a recently proposed solar panel law for the town.

More Town of Niagara seniors may soon be eligible for a tax exemption. Officials discussed a revision in the town code that determines a tax exemption for seniors based on income level at a work session on Dec. 7 at Town Hall. The plan is to make the Town of Niagara's tax exemption codes consistent with those of Niagara County.
