Crean named director of World Junior Championship

The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that Rob Crean was named director of World Junior Championship for the organization. In his new role, Crean will oversee the day-to-day operations of the IIHF World Junior Championship, taking place in Buffalo from Dec. 26, 2017, to Jan. 6, 2018.

To pay tribute to Wilder, the Historic Riviera Theatre will feature "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" (1971) at 5 p.m. and "Blazing Saddles" (1974) at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, on the venue's silver screen.

New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) Commissioner Arlene González-Sánchez visited Buffalo Tuesday to congratulate Lake Shore Behavioral Health Inc., a substance use disorder treatment provider, on its recent award of $1.75 million. The money will be used to create a recovery community and outreach center in Buffalo.
