NACC holds fundraiser for Italy

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, the community is invited to "Eat 4 Italy," a fundraiser for the Italian earthquake victims. Tickets are $20. The event will be held at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls.

The vice consulate of Italy and the NACC are holding the fundraiser, "I <3 Amatrice," to assist the Italian earthquake victims. The Marketside Restaurant and Fortuna's Restaurant are donating an incredible menu of pasta all' amatriciana, chicken cacciatore and polenta. The recipe for pasta all' amatriciana will be from the Fortuna family of Amatrice, founders of Fortuna Restaurant in Niagara Falls.

The "Cookie Brigade," or "Brigata di biscotti," will provide delicious homemade Italian cookies. Musical accompaniment will include violinist Gregory Docenko, who is donating his talents, as well.

The Rev. Duane Klizek has invited guests to attend 4 p.m. Mass at the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., before the dinner.

Tickets can be purchased at the NACC, at the vice consulate, the Marketside, Fortuna's Restaurant, and with Michelle Barthel Kratts andKelly Lang Buckley.

One hundred percent of proceeds will go to the victims of the Italian earthquake.
