New York State Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt on Tuesday penned a letter to Attorney General Letitia James respectfully requesting her office to formally broaden the scale and scope of its investigation into COVID-19-related nursing home deaths to also include an investigation into what he called the "clandestine" Feb. 10 meeting held between members of the Senate and Assembly and top staff members from Cuomo's administration.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday announced that, given the continued decline in hospitalization and infection rates throughout New York, he signed executive order 202.94, extending closing times for bars, restaurants, gyms and fitness centers, casinos, billiards halls, as well as other State Liquor Authority-licensed establishments, from 10 to 11 p.m. statewide.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday announced the state has administered over 2,136,209 vaccine doses through the state's vaccination program. The total week 8 federal allocation of vaccine delivery to providers was to be completed yesterday. As of 11 a.m. Sunday, New York's health care distribution sites had received 1,874,975 first doses and already administered 87% (1,627,191) of first dose vaccinations and 76% of first and second doses. Delivery of the week 9 allocation from the federal government begins mid-week.

For nearly two decades, the Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic (LFMC) has provided free medical and preventive care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Buffalo. Founded and managed by students from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, the nonprofit clinic continues to expand its services while adjusting to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, both in its operations and its fundraising activities.

On Wednesday, New York State Supreme Court Justice the Hon. Henry J. Nowak, J.S.C., granted a preliminary injunction against a New York State Department of Health order placing portions of Erie County into a micro-cluster action initiative "orange zone." He allowed the almost 100 applicants permission to operate under "yellow zone" restrictions "pursuant to the DOH's Interim COVID-19 Guidance."
