Today's national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.44, down 3 cents since last Monday. One year ago, the price was $4.26. The New York state average is $3.44, down 2 cents since last Monday. A year ago, the NYS average was $4.37.

Our health system will continue to provide care to residents throughout Niagara County at our other facilities, as well as take over operations of ENH's urgent care and ambulatory surgery center on Transit Road immediately following the hospital's closure.

Niagara County DA announces guilty plea in hate crime case

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Howard J. Murphy, age 61, of the Town of Niagara, entered a guilty plea in County Court to the crime of criminal mischief in the second degree, as a hate crime. Murphy admitted to vandalizing a neighbor's fence on May 16, 2022, by spraypainting onto it a violent message containing a racial slur. The incident occurred just two days after the mass shooting at Topps in Buffalo.
